The Quran is the central text in Islam, containing absolute and ultimate guidance for mankind across all time, due to it’s linguistic authority. It contains the message of the prophets in a complete and organized manner with strong proofs of ideas that it invokes in the heart of a believer.
This course covers various subject matters that are emphasized in the Quran. Which will be studied chronologically with attention to the coherence of the themes presented in the Quran by analysis and commentary on the first 2 chapters of the Quran. Building on those ideas, this course will involve the relevance and application of these thematic ideas to our lives in modernity and our approach to them.
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Understand the thematic arrangement of the Quran.
- Appreciate the nature of the proofs presented in the Quran and what faculties they invoke in human nature.
- Have a high level understanding of the individual themes and topics discussed in the excerpts sourced from the Quran.
Classes will be held in person at the AMIC office located at 205 211 Watline Avenue, Mississauga L4Z 1P3. A virtual component will also be provided with live classes on zoom. Zoom links will be available to all students in-case they cannot attend lecture in person. The course will have a total 28 lectures, of which 4 lectures will be done on ad hoc basis on topics subject to change.
